Nicely written! A contributing factor might be that music (and visual media as well) has become increasingly overproduced and artificial. Autotune is everywhere, and the goal of the music industry has shifted from music sounding natural and creative to music being tailored to quickly grab attention on streaming platforms like Spotify and Tiktok. This naturally paves the way for AI to step in, taking the increasingly unnecessary humans out of the loop. My hope is that the distrust in artifical media puts more of our media consumption back out in the real world again: you can't quite replace the sound of a jazz trio or a classical orchestra playing right in front of you anyway, or replace the beauty of a sunset with whatever DALL-E puts on your screen.
